CEL (Center for Enriched Living) is a non-profit organization that promotes disability inclusion. CEL enriches the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by maximizing opportunities for personal success, fun and friendship, employment, and community involvement. Through curricula in schools nationwide and local programs for teens, adults, and seniors, we support a culture of inclusion from childhood to adulthood.

People with developmental disabilities remain underserved across Illinois and beyond. For 58 years, CEL has provided programs that promote independence, friendship, and community, reminding individuals and families they are not alone.
Your personal fundraising page can make a big impact for people with developmental disabilities, especially considering that 57% of our members receive financial aid from CEL to attend programs.
How can we support your goals?
Social interaction is at the heart of everything we do at the CEL. Join us for Bowling, Art, Ladies/Guys Night, Music, Socials, Events, Excursions, and more! Make new friends and have a great time!
Our two Adult Day Programs (REACH and Catalyst) are designed for adults who have completed high school and are looking for opportunities to keep learning, forge new friendships, grow more independent, and enjoy enriching experiences.
Employment is the pathway to independence! Wherever you are on your employment journey, let us help you along the way.
The Robert Vihon Family Resource Center will offer mental health and wellness support to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, their families, and caregivers.

The staff are the ultimate treasure of CEL – always kind, caring, intuitive and patient. They truly care about not only the struggles and unique issues of the members but are also so supportive to the families and guardians.
I like coming to CEL on Saturdays because we play games. I love when we play Apples to Apples, it’s my favorite.
I like working on goals with staff. They appreciate that I want to get better and stronger, and they help me.
I like CEL because it’s accessible. I get to be with my friends and the staff make me feel happy and safe.
